The fathers of heavy metal are back on stage in 2025. Black Sabbath just announced that they will perform one last time live before the final goodbye. This final show will bring together the original lineup- Ozzy Osbourne, Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward– for the first time in two decades.
This last concert, which will be held this summer, will be in their hometown and take place on July 5, 2025, at Villa Park in Birmingham, England. This final concert, dubbed “Back to the Beginning,” will feature other great names of the heavy metal genre such as Metallica, Slayer and Pantera.
Will Ozzy Osbourne Be in Good Shape?
Ozzy Osbourne, now 76, has been open about the challenges he faces due to Parkinson’s disease. Recent reports indicate that his condition has worsened, affecting his mobility to the point where he can no longer walk unaided.
In 2020, Ozzy Osbourne revealed his 2019 Parkinson’s disease diagnosis. By 2022, he was using a cane and experiencing speech difficulties. Despite these challenges, in 2024, Osbourne stated he didn’t “even think about Parkinson’s that much,” though he had developed blood clots in his legs.
These health issues, compounded by a 2003 ATV accident causing multiple fractures, have significantly impacted his mobility. As his condition progresses, concerns arise about his ability to perform in the upcoming 2025 farewell concert.
This raises many questions: will the show actually happen? Could it be canceled before it even starts due to further health complications? And if it does go ahead, will Ozzy be able to perform without assistance, or will we see the once-mighty god of heavy metal seated on stage? Sadly, if I had to place a bet, I’d say the worst-case scenario is more likely… but I truly hope to be wrong.
And speaking of bets… If you’re lucky enough to live in the UK and want to witness this farewell concert but find the ticket prices outrageous (we’ll discuss that in the next section), why not test your luck at Luckypays? Who knows, you might just win enough to secure your place at this historic event.
The End Tour 2016 – 2017
Back in 2016 Black Sabbath embarked on a tour called “The End Tour” and at the time was considered the farewell tour. At this time the original drummer Bill Ward was replaced by Tommy Clufetos due to the physical ill-form in which the original drummer was found.
This tour consisted of 74 concerts spread across several countries and continents, raising the band $84.8 million in financial cash, with 1,074,495 tickets sold.
These Are the Ticket Prices for the Last Ever Black Sabbath Concert
The initial ticket costs were revealed for the final Black Sabbath show at Villa Park. Some fans were quick to show their outrage, like In this comment taken from the X network: “I understand that the profits go to incredible causes, and this is a once-in-a-lifetime event – but still tickets STARTING at £200 is a bit expensive, to say the least…“
Tickets will be on sale starting Friday, February 14, but some tickets have already been made available for pre-sale. Prices range from 197.50 pounds ($237 USD) to 834 pounds ($1,001 ).
All profits from the concert will go to various charities, including Cure Parkinson, which supports people with Parkinson’s disease, and Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
