From the mind-blowing spectacle of Burning Man in the desert to the chill reggae vibes of Reggae Rise Up Vegas, two epic festivals are still waiting for you in 2024.
The Burning Man Festival
In 1986, Larry Harvey and Jerry James ignited the spark for Burning Man, initially as an intimate gathering of friends. For decades later, the Burning Man Festival featured much music and self-expression. It’s not quite a traditional music festival. It is a week-long event focused on creating a temporary Black Rock City in the Nevada desert. Participants (called Burners) create art installations, theme camps, and sound systems and rely on each other for survival and enjoyment.
Many camps set up elaborate sound systems, and DJs or live music is common. However, the music scene is incredibly diverse, from electronic dance to world music to experimental noise. The event culminates with burning a large wooden effigy, “The Man,” on the Saturday before Labor Day.
Last year, the festival attracted an estimated 73,000 participants. Notable attendees included Diplo, Chris Rock, Kelly Gale, and Joel Kinnaman.

Reggae Rise Up Vegas
Reggae Rise Up Las Vegas will transform the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center into a reggae paradise from October 4th to 6th, 2024, as part of a nationwide celebration of reggae music. Festivals also occur in St. Petersburg, Florida; Baltimore, Maryland; and Magna, Utah in different dates.
