From the beaches of Spain and the Californian deserts to skiing resorts and rain-soaked British fields, there really is a summer music festival for everyone. This summer promises to prove that with some of the world’s best artists scheduled to perform. Let’s take a look at some of the biggest festivals this year:
Firefly Music Festival
Firefly Music Festival takes place in June later this year and features an eclectic lineup of some of the world’s largest acts. Eminem is performing alongside Kendrick Lamar, Arctic Monkeys and the Killers. The perfect soundtrack of 2010.
Northside Festival
This is an interesting one. Northside is the largest festival in Denmark and its 2018 will see a fascinating group of headline acts. American rock favourites, Queens of the Stone Age will perform, as will the Icelandic singer-songwriter, Björk. Her latest album hit the headlines when she gave fans 100 free AudioCoins, a cryptocurrency with every purchase. It’s not just fans of Björk who can get their hands on cryptocurrency as this Luckbox Review suggests.
Mad Cool Festival
Mad Cool is one of the most popular festivals in Spain and this year’s lineup is especially impressive. It takes place every year on the outskirts of Madrid but this time, fans are in for a treat. Pearl Jam, Jack White, Queens of the Stone Age and Depeche Mode are the headline acts on a star-studded bill.
Coachella
The biggest festival on the planet will always attract some of the biggest headliners and this year’s Coachella is no different. Beyonce is the main attraction this year but the other two headliners, The Weekend and Eminem will surely draw some crowds. As always, there will be more than a few surprises and given that Beyonce has recently announced a worldwide tour with her husband, Jay-Z, a guest appearance isn’t totally out of the question.
Welcome to Rockville
Some festivals just cater to genres and there are no prizes for guessing what sort of music Welcome To Rockville will be playing. The Florida festival takes place in late April of this year and features some of the biggest names in rock and roll. Ozzy Osbourne is the main attraction on the Friday night with Avenged Sevenfold, Queens of the Stone Age and Foo Fighters rounding off an impressive weekend.
BottleRock Festival
Rounding off the list is the Napa Valley’s BottleRock Festival. This event features some of the biggest pop acts in the world. Bruno Mars, The Killers and Muse will all descend on California to play the event in late May. It’s safe to say we can expect a lot of singing along with these three on display.
