For the last 15 years Ja Rule has had one of the most familiar voices in hip hop. He’s a Grammy-nominated star who’s made his way into film, and after a spell out of the limelight, and in the slammer no less, he’s back. And 2015 could be a big year for him.
The 38-year-old has announced he’s to release a new studio album for the first time since 2012 and is scheduled to hit the shelves in the early stages.
This means not long to wait until we can get our hands on the album entitled, Genius Loves Company.
That’s not to say we’ve not been blessed with plenty of the Queens man since his release from prison in 2013. He appeared in the leading role of I’m in Love with a Church Girl alongside Stephen Baldwin and Michael Madsen, a movie which in fact inspired the Thug Lovin’ star to become a practicing Christian.
Much of this is documented in his memoirs released last year settling scores with the likes of 50 Cent, as well as making amends with Ashanti, whom he shared the hit Always On Time with, and Irv Gotti. Although of course for a man like Ja Rule, you’d imagine there’s still plenty for him to get off his chest.
The man, who spent over a year in prison for gun and tax-evasion offenses, has slowly been forcing himself back into the limelight making a number of appearances on the celebrity scene including a charity poker tournament alongside Justin Bieber, Mally Mall, and poker legend Phil Ivey.
Ja Rule has long been a fan of the scene which has become hugely popular with the introduction of mobile gaming, finding himself once again at the height of fads and fashions with the likes of the Euro Palace Casino app welcoming huge numbers of players, but this year he’ll turn his attention back to what he knows – entertaining.
To compliment his new album the rapper is following in the footsteps of Nelly and starring in Follow The Rules, a reality TV show following his family life. And with Queen Latifah amongst the producers, it’ll likely be a fresh, funny, and thoroughly entertaining show. And it certainly looks it…
2015 is the year Ja rules once again. And when he does, it’ll be us “livin’ it up!”
