Following the news that realized of an possible dropout on recording the new album – derived from Malcolm Young illness – AC/DC announced that Brendan O’Brien will produce their 18th studio album, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
The reputation of the producer is large : he recorded with Pearl Jam, Aerosmith, Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young. It won’t be the first time working with AC/DC, the producer was tapped by the band to work with them on 2008 ‘Black Ice’ album.
There’s no musician yet to replace Malcolm Young on rhythm guitar and there has been no word about Malcolm’s involvement in the recording of the new music. One unconfirmed report said that Malcolm’s nephew, Stevie Young, is in Vancouver with the band. In a recent interview Brian Johnson revealed that the band will be entering the studio this month. About a possible Tour he said : ‘I hope so…I don’t think I’m finished yet!’.
