Metallica returned to the stage for their first concert of 2014 in Bogota, Colombia, and offered fans a preview of their first new song, ‘The Lords of Summer’.
Metallica debuted a brand-new song, ‘The Lords of Summer,’ ( their first since 2008′s ‘Death Magnetic’ ) during the first concert of their ‘Metallica by Request’ tour on March 16 in Bogota, Columbia. Now they’ve released an official video of the performance, which you can see Below.
About Metallica 2014 new album Kirk Hammet told Rolling Stone last month : ‘the band hasn’t “really stated” the recording process, but does have quite a bit of material already written. We’ve jammed on certain bits and pieces of music and figured out this piece of music works, this works, this doesn’t. But we’re still going through that process. James [Hetfield] has 800 pieces of music. I have 400 pieces of music. Once we figure out what pieces of music are actually gonna work for us, then we’re going to start turning those pieces of music into songs and seeing where that leads us.’
Metallica announced that they would let their fans vote on 17 of the 18 songs they’d play at each show on this tour. See the Setlist from Bogota Concert:
