In September 2012, Dave Grohl has announced that the band would take a break in live concerts and did not know when Foo Fighters would return to the live audience. Since that announcement the band have performed in Mexico on December 11, 2013, where they covered songs by The Beatles, Pink Floyd and Tom Petty. In February 2014, they headline a special gig in the run-up to Super Bowl, where they teamed up with the Zac Brown Band (Dave Grohl recently worked on the country band’s latest EP).
After all 2014 will be the year of their return, and the band first major announcement is that they will be among the reunited OutKast and Jack Johnson as headliners for the three-day event 2014 Firefly Music Festival, which runs June 19-22 at Dover International Speedway in Delaware. Other renowned bands such as Imagine Dragons, Cage the Elephant, Arctic Monkeys, Young the Giant,The Lumineers, Weezer, Band of Horses, Local Natives and many more.

Regarding the new album, there is being some updates, Dave Grohl has said that the album will be different from anything the band have done before. They recently revealed a picture in their official instagram saying that the sessions for the album are ‘fucking on’. Who are we to mistrust that?!
