Rocker will play Canada in January and Europe next summer.
‘Uncle Neil’ didn’t play as many dates as he’d planned in 2013, nonetheless he is filling up his 2014 schedule in terms of live gigs. Neil Young has announced a handful of 2014 shows, starting in January with a series of benefit performances on behalf of the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation relief fund who help Albertan natives fight the development of oil-sands reserves in the Canadian province. Young is scheduled to be joined by Diana Krall for the dates (See Below).
In July, Neil Young will return to Europe in the summer of next year to make up the dates he was forced to cancel this year due to health problems of guitarist Frank “Poncho” Sampedro, who suffered a hand injury. The first confirmed concert in Europe takes place on 12 July in Hyde Park, London. The performance is part of a festival that will also feature concerts of National, Tom Odell, Phosphorescent, Caitlin Rose and Flyte. Rolling Stone also mentions a concert in Germany on July 20
