Stream Pearl Jam’s new album ‘Lightning Bolt’ now on iTunes
The release of ‘Lightning Bolt’ is set for next Monday but it’s already possible to you to take a listen at iTunes.
Remember that the follow-up to 2009′s Backspacer was produced by the usual studio partner Brendan O´Brien. About the work on the new album, Mike McCready explained: ‘I would say as a cliché answer it’s kind of a logical extension of what ‘Backspacer’ was. But I think there’s a little bit more experimental stuff going on. There’s a Pink Floyd vibe to some of it, there’s a punk rock edge to other stuff ‘.
As for the frontman Eddie Vedder, many of his lyrics are focused on the topic of mortality. He explained to Rolling Stone, ‘They say to write what you know. I think that’s maybe one thing that we all know [laughs]. It’s living while you’re alive, and living to the day you die, and being cognizant of the end, and you might lead a more appreciative life, if that’s part of your approach.’
Pre-orders for the album are ongoing. Buy yours now!
