On June 14, 2013, it was announced by the band’s Twitter profile that Kim Deal had left the band. Two weeks later, the band released a new song, ‘Bagboy’, as a free download via the Pixies website.
‘EP-1’ is the first issue of the Pixies since 1991, when they released ‘Trompe Le Monde’. This legendary album may turn out to be the last career album of the indie rockers, as the manager Richard Jones revealed that Pixies did not intend to release a conventional album.
‘EP-1’ released on the band’s offical website has four new songs: ‘Andro Queen’, ‘Another Toe in the Ocean’, ‘Indie Cindy’, and ‘What Goes Boom’. These songs were recorded on Wales with the hand of Gil Norton, who had worked with Pixies on Doolitle (1989), Bossanova (1990) and Tromple Le Monde (1991). For the tour, Kim Shattuck will take care of the bass replacing Kim Deal.
