The Chameleon continues to unveil details of his new album The Next Day. After the release of his new single Where Are We Now in January, David Bowie provided his second single of the year in the form of a video: The Stars (Are Out Tonight).
In this video, Bowie is accompanied with the actress Tilda Swinton. The realization was made by Floria Sigismondi. The cinematographer of the movie Fight Club, Jeff Cronenweth, also participated in the making of the video for The Stars (Are Out Tonight). Bowie and Swinton play a happily married couple, whose world is disturbed and then re-arranged by the intrusion of a celebrity couple played by Andrej Pejic and Saskia de Brauw.
The lyrics for the song have been posted on his official website. The song comes from his new album, The Next Day, was produced by longtime collaborator Tony Visconti (who collaborated with Bowie in the past such as in the famous Berlin Trilogy), which will be released in standard and deluxe versions through Columbia Records (the deluxe has three bonus tracks) , internationally on March 11 and on March 12 in the US. The Next Day’ is Bowie’s first record of new music in more than a decade.
