Yeah Yeah Yeahs announce new song. ‘Sacrilege’ is the first track from ‘Mosquito’ to be known.
The new track was debuted on BBC with Zane Lowe, and is the lead single off upcoming LP, Mosquito. Although this is the first official single from Yeah Yeah Yeahs fourth studio album, Sacrilege is actually the third song from Mosquito that have been revealed by the band so far. Last month during a show at the Glass House in California, footage emerged of new songs Earth and title track Mosquito.
The Fourth album, Mosquito lands in stores on April 16th via Interscope Records. It was recorded in New York alongside TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek, James Murphy, to name but a few of friends that collaborate on the album.
Karen O told NME: ‘It’s definitely different from the last album,’ . ‘So I guess you could say that hasn’t changed about us! It’s all over the place. The sound of the record is, I guess, a bit more lo-fi sounding and slightly more influenced by roots reggae. There’s a lot of delay on stuff and there’s a more raw sound to it than there was last time.’
After the rumors about a new album from Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and the confirmation about itself, it’s time to hear the first sample of the upcoming Mosquito, the song Sacrilege. It’s a little rocker which features a 20-person gospel choir, built around Karen-O voice.
