According to the Pitchfork website, the music should be on the next album, and serves for presentation of the fifth studio album, which by now, has no title or official release date. The album will succeed Angles, released in 2011.
The band asks those who wish to download the new song for free, to register an e-mail.
The Strokes have released four the albums: Is this it (2001), Room on Fire (2003), First Impressions of Earth (2006) and Angles (2011).
