After the release of the intense and praised Heaven, The Walkmen decided to present us with even more of the recording sessions for the new album, and then they came with a couple of unreleased songs: Dance with Your Partner and Vermeer ’65. We all know the quality of the lastest album and if we have in mind that they recorded about twenty songs and released only ten, we ask ourselves why they didn’t englobe this two awesome tracks!
The songs follow the traditional Walkmen fashion with calculated and tranquil folk melodies that are pleasent to any ear, and they don’t disappoint us. The variation between the two tracks works well together, giving rise to a type of rock that relates well with the one that had been promoted over the 60’s.
Both songs appear on an extremely limited new 7″, but you don’t have to wait until November 6th to hear these two songs, because they’re available for streaming below:
