Cream Bassist Jack Bruce Dies Aged 71
Jack Bruce, died on Saturday at his home in Suffolk, England. He was 71. His family announced the death on his website. A spokesman said the cause was liver disease.
Bruce became famous in the 1960s as the bassist and lead vocalist for the rock group Cream, teamed with the guitarist Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker on drums. Cream had its roots in the blues and along The Jimi Hendrix Experience, they were the most powerfull bands at the time.
After Cream broke up in 1968, Bruce continued on with a solo career. In 2005, Bruce reunited with Clapton and Baker for Cream’s first tour in 37 years.
They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993, and received a lifetime achievement Grammy in 2006.
Jack Bruce will always be known for wrote popular hits like ‘White Room,’ ‘Sunshine of Your Love’ and ‘I Feel Free’.
